Green Leader

Dear Sir or Madam, we are pleased to announce that the Green Industry Foundation has launched another project aimed at increasing adults' knowledge of climate and environmental protection. Below you will find key information about the new initiative.

Project Partner: Baba Husky Oy (Finland)
Project Title: Green Leader
Project Duration: 1 April 2023 – 1 April 2024
Funding: Erasmus+ Programme – KA210-ADU Small-scale Partnerships in Adult Education

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The project's primary strategic objective is to increase adults' knowledge of climate and environmental protection. By raising awareness in these areas, participants will contribute to accelerating the green transition in both their personal and professional environments. The project's operational objective is to ensure that every aspect of the project - particularly the educational materials - is developed to the highest possible quality. A further objective is to establish cooperation with organizations from EU countries through the exchange of best practices in adult education related to Green Leader competencies.

Expected Project Results:

  1. Exchange of best practices in non-formal adult education, with particular emphasis on Scandinavian experience.
  2. Development of the Green Leader Educational Programme.
  3. Preparation of educational materials supporting the implementation of the programme.

The project addresses three Erasmus+ priorities.

First, it contributes to the horizontal priority on environmental sustainability and combating climate change. The need to use available resources responsibly and develop production processes that minimize their impact on the environment and climate is now widely recognized as a global megatrend. This can be achieved through effective adult education programmes that encourage lasting changes in attitudes and everyday behaviour.

Second, the project supports the digital transformation objectives of the European Green Deal. Digital technologies are treated as tools for achieving sustainability goals by providing the knowledge needed to build environmental awareness among the target audience.

Third, the project contributes to the adult education priority of improving professional skills and competencies. Neither formal nor non-formal education currently provides sufficient knowledge in this area. For this reason, it is essential to develop an educational solution that not only increases understanding of environmental and climate protection but also influences attitudes, strengthens pro-environmental awareness among adults, and enables organizations to assess their own environmental impact. This approach will improve access to environmental education and encourage more people to participate in ecological learning programmes.

The project creates an opportunity to establish a new educational standard addressing one of the most significant societal challenges facing local and regional communities.

We invite you to watch a video produced by our partner Baba Husky, created as part of the project, which summarizes a year of cooperation under the Erasmus+ Programme
