Financing the Green Transition

The Foundation was represented by dr Monika Płońska, President of the Green Industry Foundation, who participated in the panel discussion "Financing the Green Transition." Together with Anna Zając, Executive Director at DM Bank Ochrony Środowiska S.A.; Jakub Maceja from the National Chamber of Energy Communities; Krzysztof Burda, President of the Management Board of the Polish Chamber for the Development of Electromobility (PIRE); Dariusz Lewandowski from mLeasing Sp. z o.o.; and Mirosław A. Metrych from Hoogells Oleksiewicz sp. k., she discussed available financing sources for low-emission projects, the role of public-private partnerships, and the barriers and opportunities for green investment in Poland. The panel was moderated by Tomasz Biel of EFI Doradcy Gospodarczy sp. z o.o.

- "One of the less obvious risks in the context of green finance is the deregulation of the EU Taxonomy, particularly the increase in the financial threshold for companies currently subject to taxonomy disclosure requirements. While this may appear to reduce reporting obligations, it will in fact make access to green financing more challenging. Banks remain subject to these requirements and will continue to cascade them down to their clients," said dr Monika Płońska.

We would like to thank the organizers of EVB Partner Days 2025 for creating an excellent platform for inspiring discussions and networking with leaders driving sustainable change.
