Security starts with energy – under this theme, participants of the “Energy & Resilience in Poland and Central and Eastern Europe” conference in Warsaw discussed infrastructure protection, new technologies and the future of the economy. The event began with the presentation of a unique report and concluded with a debate on the possibility of reaching political consensus on energy policy.v
The conference, organised by the Polska z Natury Foundation and the Sobieski Institute, brought together the perspectives of energy experts, representatives of industry, the military, local governments and politicians. During the discussions, participants considered how to ensure energy supplies in times of crisis, protect infrastructure facilities from attacks and carry out a transition that supports the competitiveness of Polish companies.
Dr Grzegorz Kądzielawski, Chairman of the Foundation Council, took part in the panel “Transition as a Development Model. Security, Competitiveness and Consensus”.

When it comes to regulation, the European Union is beginning to compete with itself. The EU is losing today because it has 27 different energy prices and 27 national budgets that support domestic industries to varying degrees. Meanwhile, climate policy without a coherent industrial policy leads to the export of emissions – along with jobs – said Kądzielawski.
Green Industry Foundation was a content partner of the conference.
