AGH University and Green Industry Foundation Join Forces for the Green and Digital Transformation of Industry

AGH University of Krakow and Green Industry Foundation have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, opening a new stage of joint activities aimed at supporting sustainable, innovative and competitive industry.

The agreement combines the scientific and technological potential of one of Poland’s leading technical universities with Green Industry Foundation’s experience in the areas of the green transformation of industry, climate and environmental policy, the circular economy, green skills, and the practical implementation of solutions for businesses and public institutions.

The cooperation will include, among other areas, research and development, education and skills development, the preparation of joint projects, technology and knowledge transfer, the development and scientific validation of methodologies and standards, as well as pilot and demonstration activities. The parties also plan to undertake joint initiatives financed by European Union, national and regional funds.

An important area of cooperation will be the energy transition and decarbonisation of industry, including renewable and low-emission energy sources, energy storage, hydrogen technologies, energy efficiency, process optimisation, and the measurement and reduction of emissions. The Memorandum also covers issues related to raw materials and materials, recycling, ecodesign, industrial symbiosis, life cycle assessment, and resilient and transparent supply chains.

Another important element of the agreement is digital and data-driven solutions – in particular artificial intelligence, automation, modelling, digital twins and monitoring systems, which can support environmental and resource efficiency, risk management and sustainability reporting.

The partners also plan to organise conferences, seminars, workshops and training sessions, prepare reports and expert publications, and cooperate within national and European networks bringing together researchers, businesses, public institutions and civil society organisations.

The Memorandum was concluded between AGH University, represented by the Vice-Rector for Research, Prof. Marek Gorgoń, and Green Industry Foundation, represented by President of the Management Board Dr Monika Płońska.

This is another step towards building a bridge between science, technology, industry and public policy. The shared objective is to translate knowledge and research into concrete solutions supporting the green and digital transformation of the European economy.
